"The Lakes Region Humane Society moved from Tuftonboro to 11 Old Rt. 28 in Ossipee in 2005. The townships of Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro knew where to find us but folks in Ossipee were consistently surprised to learn that their town housed an animal shelter. We needed to do a better job of getting the word out, so in 2013 we joined the Greater Ossipee Area of Commerce hoping to spread awareness of our services and convenient location. We attended the networking EXPOs and through those formed relationships with other business owners. We were warmly welcomed by the chamber community and are proud to say that, with the support of the GOACC, we have developed solid relationships with fellow businesses, gained the visibility we were seeking, successfully promoted our mission, events, and pet education, and have made some great friendships to boot!"

"I have been a member of the Greater Ossipee Area Chamber of Commerce (GOACC) for over 30 years, with several memberships.
I first came to the valley in 1991 as a Licensed Massage Therapist and joined the GOACC, as Silver Lake Massage Therapy. In 1995 with my husband, I joined the chamber as Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast. In 1999 we acquired the Yankee Smokehouse Restaurant and again joined the Chamber. We opened another business in 2016, Farm to Table Market & Catering; and yes, again joined the GOACC. These have all been tremendously successful businesses and the GOACC has been helpful in that.
The networking opportunities with other local business people have been wonderful. The exposure through the guide books and website has been tremendous. We enjoy the annual golf tournament that supports local scholarships; the annual dinner; and the other social events that the GOACC promotes in the community. I highly recommend any local business or nonprofit organization to not only be a member – but become involved with your local chamber!"
